This past weekend wasn't the best for Impact Gold. My team played in Tomball, TX. We played in a ASA Qualifier Stage 2, four pool games on Saturday and 1 bracket game on Saturday. We lost 3 out of the 5 games and then got eliminated after the first bracket game. There were a lot of good teams there, that had outstanding offense and defense. Two of the teams we played had amazing pitchers that had excellent movement and speed on the ball! Those pitchers were getting everyone out with the curveball, including me.
There were some games that we should of won, but we just weren't working hard enough to win. We all started off a little rough but then we started getting more comfortable. In the games we did win, our bats were hot, we had amazing pitching, and great defense. But even though we had great defense, the other teams still worked really hard.
Many of my teammates got hurt including me. I was diving into a lot of bases and jammed my shoulder and probably overthrew it. I still played on because it was only a little pain and I knew that pain doesn't last forever. Our coach gave us the week to heal and get our mental game back on track.
Very soon after High School softball is over we will have our full team back and we will be back to our full potential! Then we will be getting ready for Colorado in the summer where a whole new journey will be.
