Missouri is a time that I will never forget! It's a time where I learned a few things about robots, beautiful flowers, and Australia.
For our Missouri trip we met my Mom's friends son from Australia. He was here with his team for a national robotics competition. It was really fun to watch something besides softball for once! I actually really liked watching all the robots compete. The robots would battle out numerous problem solving techniques. The problems were almost like capture the flag.
After we watched the robotics competition, me and my family went to the Saint Louis City Museum! In there I felt like a little kid again. The museum had 13 stories of slides! It was like a jungle gym with each level there is a different kind of slide! That was honestly one of the best times I had.
On Sunday me and my family went to see the famous Arch, Old Congress, and we went to the Botanical Garden, The Arch was a beautiful creation! I wish we got to go inside the Arch but it was under construction. Also Old Congress was a beautiful building. The Botanical Garden was probably my favorite site seeing area. I could spend hours,no, days, in that place. Everything was just so pure and beautiful. Everything was perfect and it was just pure beauty. I didn't want to leave. It felt like I was in a dream of perfection. In there you feel safe, like nothing could hurt you, nothing bad could happen. It was like it's own world. A world of perfection. A world where everyone would want to live.
Sunday afternoon, me and my family went to Six Flags with Leoj (my Mom's friends son from Australia ) and his team. Going to Six Flags was so much fun with them! We were all comparing each other steaks sizes! Of course I won cause everything is bigger in Texas! We started comparing the US to Australia like the weather, schools, sports, and people. It was really interesting to learn about things in Australia.
The team was the highlight of my trip! They are all the best people ever! They were so much fun to be around, and their accents, oh my gosh. The accents were amazing! We started talking about the accents and they told me that I had an accent. It was really funny to me, but then I realized we are from two completely different places and we are used to hearing the way we talk. The way we talk is normal to us, but to other people in other places it sounds completely different. Then I forgot in Australia they use different units of measurements, so they all were converting everything! To me that was really cool for some reason. They were also saying about how they hate our money because it's so confusing! Like in Australia their money is plastic and color coded! So then it's easier to find the dollar bill you want, AND it wont get destroyed as easy! But here our money is all green and paper. Which paper can rip and get destroyed very easy.
Then I realized how different we all were, but how much alike we all were also. The culture difference just astonishes me. I am very glad I got to meet such amazing people and learn many things. I also learned that there is a lot more to do than just sports. You never know, maybe I'll get into robotics!
I'm glad I got to take a break from softball and learn something new!
